TRIPLE-A ROUND ROCK (39-49): RHP R.J. Alvarez allowed one hit in two scoreless innings during a 4-0 loss to Colorado Springs (Milwaukee). Alvarez has been scored on in only one of his last nine relief appearances.
DOUBLE-A FRISCO (8-7, 39-46): LF Scott Heineman had a two-run single to key a five-run ninth inning in a 6-3 win at Tulsa (Los Angeles Dodgers). Heineman has reached base in 22 consecutive games.
HIGH-A DOWN EAST (9-6, 33-51): RHP Richelson Pena allowed four hits and one run in eight innings in a 7-1 win against Buies Creek (Houston). Pena is 3-3 with a 2.70 ERA in his last nine starts.
LOW-A HICKORY (10-6, 37-49): 2B Blaine Prescott led off the first inning of an 8-2 win against Delmarva (Baltimore) with his third homer in the last four games.
SHORT-SEASON A SPOKANE (8-15): RF Chad Smith hit two homers and drove in three runs during a 6-5 loss to Hillsboro (Arizona). Smith had five homers in his previous 467 career at-bats.
ROOKIE ARIZONA (6-4): RHP Demarcus Evans, who had 8 2/3 scoreless innings in his previous two appearances, gave p five runs without completing the first inning of a 14-5 loss to San Francisco. Game-time temperature was 111 degrees.
