Worth noting from the Texas Rangers’ minor-league system on Wednesday:

TRIPLE-A ROUND ROCK (44-53): RHP Nick Martinez, used in relief, had four scoreless innings in a 6-4 win over New Orleans (Miami). Martinez has 10 scoreless innings in his last two appearances. He made a relief appearance because RHP A.J. Griffin started on injury-rehab assignment.

DOUBLE-A FRISCO (10-16, 41-55): 2B Andy Ibanez had the only hit, a two-out single in the ninth innings, of a 6-0 loss at Corpus Christi (Houston). RHP Collin Wiles had a career-high nine strikeouts in six innings.

HIGH-A DOWN EAST (11-13, 33-59): Did not play. RHP Richelson Pena is third in the Carolina League for ERA at 2.91.

LOW-A HICKORY (14-12, 41-55): SS Anderson Tejada had three hits in a 7-3 loss to Asheville (Colorado). Tejada, 19, is hitting .415 in his last 41 at-bats.

SHORT-SEASON A SPOKANE (14-20): RHP Alex Speas had more control problems in a 3-2 loss to Salem-Keizer (San Francisco). Speas, the 63rd overall pick in last year’s draft, allowed three walks and three runs in 1 2/3 innings. For the season, Speas has more walks than strikeouts (14-12) in 16 2/3 innings.

ROOKIE ARIZONA (10-10): RHP Hans Crouse had three strikeouts in two scoreless innings during an 8-5 win against the Chicago White Sox. Crouse, the 66th overall pick in this year’s draft, has opened his pro career with seven scoreless innings.
